Breastfeeding

While the advice to talk to a lactation consultant is good, remember that their job is to get you to EBF, and many believe that supplementing, or using a nipple shield, or even pumping is a slippery slope to formula and will discourage you even if it might be helpful. Don't let the lactation consultants talk you out of using a nipple shield if you need one, supplementing if you are anxious about your baby getting enough, etc. Trust your instincts.

I buy my baby https://hollegoatstage1.com/, since I have no milk. Milk-based baby formula is as close in composition to breast milk as possible.

Like everything this depends on gf lactation consultant, I saw 2 in hospital and one through pediatrician- they all suggested nipple shields and pumping, and using formula to supplement as part of triple feed plan

I will say my lactation consultant helped me combo feed when I was struggling. Can't sing her praises enough. I think she moved out of NoVa but it was Brittany Hunt from Metropolitan Breastfeeding.
