E-Z Pass for DC resident?

I'm the person a few posts up who posted a link to this same question I asked last week. Someone responded on that thread that they had a MD EZ Pass but were going to get a 2nd VA EZ Pass for driving down south.

Heh, I'm that poster. I just got my VA EZ Pass in the mail two days ago. So yes, you can have two EZ Passes!

How do you know you won't be double charged? Wouldn't' everyone have multiple ezpasses then? They scan your license plate and not your EZ pass.

You can put your unused EZ Pass in the RFID blocking bag that they provide.

My assumption is that VA Toll Authority will go through their own database of EZ Pass's first to see if I have an account. If not, they try to apply the charge to the broader population of EZ Pass's from other states. I will find out when I drive the HOT lanes down to OBX next week!
