I bought them for Disney and they have a breakaway snap. |
| I work at a daycare and this is the only place I have ever seen that and it was just briefly, for a child with some issues. Please don’t ask this of your teen. |
For a teen?! That’s absurd. |
| I’ve seen older HS girls wear fashion chains, but that’s it. |
I got DS the masks that have the built in elastic because he'd lose all of his masks if he couldn't just drop it down around his neck while he didnt have it up
Safe Mate brand, got them on Amazon |
| My teen is vaccinated and doesn’t wear masks anymore |
| No. My kids haven't lost any of their masks since March 2020 . |
| I can’t think of anything less cool. |
Really, this. It’s going to be a lot of them wearing them below their noses if they are forced to go back to masks. Many kids haven’t worn one since June. |
| I have two girls, 12 and 14. They always use a lanyard and have been for like a year now. |
Yeah...is there something I am missing? How would a teen choke on this? |
Yeah, my 10 and 12 year old girls use lanyards and think they are useful. Between this thread and some of the comments on the "what backpack to get" thread, I wonder if my kids are just oblivious to people judging "coolness" or if that just isn't a big deal with the kids they hang out with. |
Mine are oblivious too, PP. I consider that to be a good quality. |
| I bought some lanyards for school last year but my tweens declared them uncool and wouldn’t wear them. |
NP. It’s good to a degree but help out your kid. A 10 yo is very different than a 14 yo. It’s okay for a parent to nudge the 12 and 14 yo to ease off the lanyards before school starts. This isn’t about style or coolness. A lanyard on anyone who doesn’t have a severe disability or medical condition at this age is ridiculous. |
