NP. The "ethics" of horseback riding is a ridiculous topic. There are real ethical issues in the sport, in racing, showing, everywhere. But just riding or driving a horse? Not unethical. It doesn't harm the horse, it's not abusive or "coercive". Horses, like other animals, like to have a job, like to work. IMHO, removing ourselves from the animal world is worse for animals (and ourselves) than living with them. |

Yeah, about 12 years ago, we went on a cruise that included two stops in Mexico. In Cozumel, we went to Dolphin Discovery and the Royal Dolphin Swim package included putting your arms out and two dolphins would come, swim under your arms and would pull you through the water. Then, if you wanted, you tread water and one would come under your feet and would launch you up into the air and you would arc into a dive back into the water. It was fun.
From the cruise boards, it sounds like you can still get similar types of packages. Now, they just advertise "40 minutes swimming with dolphins" but don't tell you on-line about the activities that you'll do during the dolphin swim session. |
