We tried that already and it didn’t work. |
Wrong. They did work. Check the crime stats between when it was being implemented and the change since they have decided to be lenient. |
Paying these people to not commit crimes, lol |
Policing needs to be fair, unbiased, respectful ... but strict. |
What it really needs to be is effective. Harassing people on the street is easy, which is why police do it, but it is not effective. Investigating and solving crimes is effective, but it is hard so police do not do it. People in high crime areas want more policing because they also want to be safe, but they want effective policing. |
Where on your body did you decide to put your DC flag tattoo? Am trying to decide between my wrist 🆚 my upper arm. Thanks |
What? Yeah, I’m sure in this climate of “defund the police” and equity and restorative justice and Charles Allen, woke city council bullsht, we’ll see a decrease in crime. |
Racist! |
It did work. Read the Atlantic article about it. |
Nah. Actual racism is expecting POC to commit crimes because “that’s just who they are” And that’s you. |
Hyperbolic nonsense. All normal people want is criminals to face justice, no matter their skin color. If we become lenient, crime increases. |
Because crying racist at actual inhabitants of the city because of their alarm at the massive increase in crime is helpful. Read the Atlantic piece about tough on crime policing. Crime plummeted and murders went down. Or you feel good about yourself, continue to lash out unproductively in this thread and ignore the reality. |

Summer is almost over and homicides and car thefts are still up big. The best you can say is that the year-over-year rate of increase is decreasing. But the increases are still quite big. If anyone follows DC Real Time News on Twitter, the nightly violence is jarring and deeply concerning.
2021 YTD Homicides +10% Car Theft +18% 2020 Homicides +19% Car Theft +50% |
And yet the policies that led to these increases won’t change. And anyone who argues that they should will be deemed a racist. |
Grow up. Read a book. Get an education. Create equity. Move along. |
