| Had it done at 18 and it was life changing for my self confidence. So happy for parents let me do it. |
| I had a NJ when I was 16. It was so much worse, and I had no idea for like 10 years when some jerk made fun of it. I got another one and it didn’t make it much better. The pain from both was miserable. I hate my nose still. |
I remember watching a reality show where they documented a woman’s nose job. She was younger, I think college-age, and was a golfer. And she wasn’t allowed to golf for the better part of a year because of how you have to look down all the time in golf especially when putting. I also have little kids and they don’t give a F about anything and I regularly get hit in the face with toys or one of them will accidentally headbutt me in the face at least once a week. So I feel like they’d have to be at least later elementary age to “get” the gravity of the situation and how they literally cannot touch mom’s face at all, even when the surgery “looks” better and starts to heal. |

I had a super easy recovery to which I credit my plastic surgeon. I had a strict diet which I implemented two weeks prior: no nuts, no seafood and lots of pineapple. I also took Arnica tablets in the week leading up to surgery.
I had no bruising at all! I was swollen but my icing schedule (frozen peas - 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off), helped avoid bruising. I did not vomit and did not have any packing. Pain killers were only taken the night of surgery. I was back to work in 2 weeks. I’m 40+ and wish I had done this sooner. I highly recommend Dr Naderi. I had a big hump and asked for a completely new nose without providing any pictures. He gave me a great nose that suits me. |
I live in Toronto and I have heard of Naderi. |
Why no nuts/seafood? |
| I don't understand the diet pre nose job |
PP here. Dr Naderi said something about blood thinning and bruising. He advises to avoid certain foods prior to surgery. It could just be his technique but I followed his instructions and it seemed to work for me. |
| Have you considered non-surgical? I thought my nose had a numb, but I had actually lost the fat/tissue that sits above the bump and between the eyes. A little filler took it right back to my teen years. |
Reading this makes me wonder if you'd be insecure about nose of your mom hadn't spent your whole life hating her nose which you inherited. What if your daughter has the same nose? Do you want her to grow up thinking there is something wrong with her face and wanting a nose job just like mom. See if you can learn to love your nose and make sure your mom never puts her nose down in front of your daughter. |

Nose jobs can change a person’s looks from bleh/average >> stunning/gorgeous.
Look at how fantastic the former pop singer Ashlee Simpson looked after getting her nose job! She looked gorgeous, maybe more so than her sister. |
and then she kept going... and doesn't look anything like she did before. |

I had one about 30 years ago, age 17. It did SO MUCH for my confidence. The key was choosing a surgeon known for a conservative approach that yields natural-looking results that suit your unique face and features. You don't want to end up looking like Sissy Spacek.
Recovery was uncomfortable but not painful. I imagine it would be a little more challenging as an adult. |
I would happily pay and be thrilled if my daughter or son wanted a nose job. |
No she did not. Do you just make stuff up? |
