| After you get most out, dump a pile of baking soda over everything and let it sit fir 24 hours. Vacuum up. You should be good. |
We had a similar situation. I was pregnant - had a sick kid - and stopping by a friend of my husbands family. I was mortified but they just dealt with it as if nothing happened. I am forever grateful and learned a lot of grace. |
| You can have seats replaced. Expensive but easy. |
| Nothing helpful to add, just sympathy. It’s the reason I have plastic grocery bags stashed all over the car and I have a package of those vomit bags they pass out in the ER in my glove compartment. Which aren’t helpful for the first surprise gush, true, but come in handy for the follow-ons. |
| Spray it out with a strong hose. Thats what I did when that happened to us. |

Thanks all.
We got “natures miracle” and it’s really helped. It’s airing out overnight and hopefully will be better tomorrow. |

Yes, I was going to add to enzymatic cleaner suggestion. Nature’s Miracld or Anti-Icky Poo. Especially get the unscented kind. Amazon or a pet store. Spray it everywhere, let it soak into the crevices. Air out. If necessary, get a detailing only after that.
Sorry, vomit is the worst. |

Our DD threw up in car rides a lot. It wasn't until age 2 an ENT saw fluid in her inner ear and we got ear tubes.
Try professional steam cleaning. if that isnt enough, ozone treatment by a professional. |
| When my son had this problem I started taking the vomit bags from the airplane. They are surprisingly effective. |
| BioKleen BacOut is better than nature’s miracle for vomit. |
| Get two gallons of natures miracle and douse everything, then leave it with the windows open until the detailer comes. |
| Girl, don’t think twice about this, get it detailed. It will be worth every penny! |

OP here.
I’m confused by all the suggestions to get it detailed. We cleaned out the mess, but the smell remains because it’s in the seatbelt and very small space where the seatbelt holder is slotted. I don’t need the car to be detailed at all; we have a weekly car wash subscription and go weekly, so the car is pretty spotless. Would a detail really clean the inside of the seat belt lock…? That seems like a lot, even for a detail. |
This happened to us too. Same kind of car. I detailed it myself. Took removable carpets out and sprayed with a hose and soap. Dried in sun. Tooth picks / q-tips for the tiny spots. Carpet cleaner and Clorox wipes. Now I would pay someone! It’s fine. We have the car still 10 years later. |
Wouldn't a professional "detailer" (not car wash establishment people) be the person who cleans car interior, steam cleans, ozone, etc? |
