I think we got an email (or even a mailed letter?) from MySchoolDC with our match and waitlist numbers. Easy to miss since myschooldc sends so many emails but might be in your emails |
| Hopefully more long time and multiple generation DC families will get into the school of their choice this year. I imagine the Home School office might be extra busy this year too. |
| Pardon my stupidity... I am new to the system... If a school in April 2020 had say 20 "Lottery seats" available, and by October 2020 they made it to Waitlist #18, does it mean that only 2 of the kids originally matched accepted the offer? |
We don't know how many of the 20 that were offered in the initial round accepted. It could be that 19 accepted seats and they have gone through 18 students to fill the 20th seat, it could be that 10 accepted initially and they're now filling the other 10 seats available, etc. |
Not everyone fled for private. Some people moved to other states. |
Gotcha, thank you! |

Oh man, I'm not seeing any movement on my son's Prek4 waitlists. Ugh..
I had heard to anticipate some movement in early July - does anyone know why? |
I found our email from MySchoolDC with "My School DC Lottery Results" but it just says "Waitlisted," no numbers. |
Our PK4 isn’t moving either. Granted we only put long shots, but I think our lowest number is in the 80s. |
It should be in your emails. |
Why are people trying to lottery out of Miner? |
Not so at CHML. We are on the waitlist there for 3rd + and the list moved 20 spots or so since lists came out, but hasn't budged in weeks now. |
If by "long shots", you picked only schools WTOP, you aren't going to see any meaningful movement. |
Same Our Capitol Hill pk3 list has moved only 2 places.

Not a long shot in this case, inbounds school. |
