| Quite a few teams at our club don't have a team manager. The coach does it. Op, why don't you volunteer? |
| its best if 2 or 3 parents share the work load of team manager duties. |
| Our club doesn’t allow parent team managers. All organizing, scheduling, communications are done by the paid club employees |
|
Yep, it is a lot of work actually.
It is constant follow up with the club, the coach, the parents, the opposing teams, the tournament organizers about dates, who can come, fees, what's included, how to explain to parents, follow up with parents re: fees, follow up with parents again and again and again to remind them to pay fees, update player's availability, upload health checks before tournaments, ask someone to bring a tent, answer questions, listen to complaints, convey the questions and complaints (nicely) to the coach and/or the club, answer more question and then hear some parents on your team complain about you not notifying them of something sufficiently clearly... and you are a volunteer and a mother and have a real job too... trust me... |
You seriously don't have the slightest clue what a club team manager does. |
+1 to all of this, it is a lot of work Passing this role to someone else next year! |
Simmer down Karen. Not everyone is as savvy as you. He is a bit older and coaches a younger team. It's admin work that a TM can do to let the coach focus on coaching. |
Spoken like a true incompetent adult coach. Many of these troglodytes couldn’t fill out a team registration from much less coach a team, but they’re being paid anyhow. Hence the TM role. |
Spoken like a true Karen...keep complaining to make sure your child starts |
The people who seem to complain and whine about absolutely everything are almost all under the age of 35. The whining among the millennial and Gen y snowflakes is endless. |
| Our team manager moved during the off season and we are all so bummed. She did a lot to keep us all organized! |
Coach! I didn’t know you were on this forum. I didn’t know you know how to use a computing device. Now, if you can just learn what creating space and splitting the defense meant, I’d be mildly impressed. |
I quit. You know more about technology, team management, and clearly have more tactical acumen than I do. |
I missed something, are coaches now required to code the websites that are easy to use? |
we have had a few parent team managers that became so invested with coach and club they found a way to get their kid all sorts of opportunities. unfortunately, kid was an average player and it upset most of the parent group, so became a problem. club should take care of all management responsibilities...parents should not be involved. |
