Au pair?

You pay for 6 credits for them in college for the year. It’s considered an education visa. They are required to earn 3 credits a semester and as a host family, you are required to pay for the tuition up to $500 and you have to get them to class and home.

Really? I have never heard if this before and I could not find this rule in the agencies’ websites… is it mandatory?

Uh, It's on every single company website. It's the core part of the aupair program. It's an education visa. What website are you looking at?

Anyone who thinks an au pair is only going to cost $20k/yr is in for a rude awakening.

Thank you

The program comes with some iffy quality insurance.

Italians aren’t as into being au pairs so that’s a harder match to make.

You *sorta* get to pick the girl but we struggle to match, possibly because we are a mixed race family.

I don’t think there are a lot of Italians or Portuguese participating in the program so that’s a hard match. Brazilians yes.

More than anything I think the best au pairs are those who are more on the older side. You do not want to end up parenting another teen.

I personally only even consider girls over 21 both for maturity and not wanting to police alcohol reasons.

Fe.ales over agec28 are considered grown women not girls. You distain of au pairs is obvious.

That's why you blacklist the ones that are money hungry on the Facebook group and deport them
