Maybe not what you mean by a chick flick (I love Bridget Jones's Diary for that) but I just watched the 2006 BBC version of "Jane Eyre" and it is sooooooo good. It had scenes that made me cheer on the female empowerment going on, and it had scenes that made me totally lose myself in the beauty of the scenery, and it had scenes that made me horny (to put it bluntly). My husband was happy I watched this one!

OP here...thanks for great suggestions. I just watched Jane Austen Book Club, which was suggested here, tonight, and I LOVED IT. I've never read Jane Austen's books, but after watching this movie, I'm going to seriously check out her novels!

In pursiuit of Happiness. Actually everyone should see this movie so that they can see how we really do not need welfare. It is a true movie.

Perhaps it should be required viewing for all high level policymakers. If Will Smith can make his dreams come true, anyone can! You, PP, will never be accused of overintellectualizing the issues.

I loved the book, but the movie was a bit boring, if you ask me. It's another example of a book ruining a movie.

do you know what "based on a true story" means. It isn't about will smith. It is a true story, why would that bother you? Better yet, don't answer b/c I really do not care what your answer is.
