I know I’m not supposed to love this dress but I do!

Very pretty. I love the colors! I actually think it might be even better if it were knee-length but that may just be me. Either way the wearer would stand out in a good way!

NP - and I really love it, too! Usually I hate the fancy occasion dresses people post here but that one is making my heart go pitter patter. I'm the wrong build for it so won't be buying, but I'd admire the heck out of someone I saw in it.

I like all the dresses from Macy's, Ann Taylor and J McLaughlin. I think the others are too formal and too fussy for a resort location and OP would feel out of place for a daytime event.

I also like the suggestions from 9:46 about the slacks. You could go with linen or a wearever type pant from JJill or Talbots and look very pulled together.

You also could go with a skirt. Here are some resort-type skirts from Talbots that you can dress up or down depending on the top and sandals you choose to pair with it.

Very cute! Talbots has really done a remarkable turn-around imo. 10 years ago you wouldn't have caught me or my girls anywhere near Talbots but now I see a lot of things I like every time I go online and look at their site.

Agree -- for OP at 5'4", knee-length would be better.

Not OP.

Oh, lots of cute ones here. I really like this one! https://www.talbots.com/watercolor-tile-print-dress/P202034378.html?cgid=petite-dresses&dwvar_P202034378_color=WHITE/INDIA%20INK&dwvar_P202034378_sizeType=PT#start=1&sz=36 and this one https://www.talbots.com/split-neck-linen-shift-dress/P202036403.html?cgid=petite-dresses&dwvar_P202036403_color=LIGHT%20CHAMBRAY&dwvar_P202036403_sizeType=PT#9822b4c35acb3ab73039f88a29=&start=1&sz=36

The first one here is only available in XS. Ugh. I love it. Super simple and cute.

Don't know if you are OP. But if you are, at 5'4" you could try the petite, which has more sizes available.

OP here. Thank you all. I've ordered 5 dresses suggested here. Here's to hoping. But really, thank you for your suggestions!
