D.C. hits 70% of population with at least one Covid vaccine

Yes, VA and MD did a good job letting y'all get vaccinated on-time at our mass vaccination sites. Not surprised DC takes credit for it.

Aw. Early on everyone was complaining about how MD and VA residents were using their work addresses to get a DC shot, not to mention the outrage at the out of state doctors and teachers taking shots from DC residents. How quickly we forget!

Seriously, how can DC tell, or even estimate, what the vaccination rate is. Thanks to Bowser's early screw up with vaccine appointments and her clumsy efforts to play politics with favored wards, my spouse and I are most of our friends became vaccine hunters. We went to Salisbury, Roanoke, North Carolina to get vaccines. DC has no way to track exactly how many people are vaccinated, alhough they have to assume that a lot of DC residents were forced to travel hours away.

DC's rate of community transmission is now so low it's ridiculous. No matter how you slice it, the city has done a great job.

Yes, we citizens, NOT the city - did a great job .

I cast a lot of shade on DC itself but have to admit, the citizens of DC proved to be very resourceful in figuring out how to get vaccinated while your mayor came up with excuses.

VA/MD residents were also driving into D.C. like damned thieves to steal our Covid tests which were free at a dozen locations in our tiny city.

You think we forgot? No. But its an alliance so we all lean on each other.

Those mass vaccinated sites were operated by the Federal Government FMEA, not MD or VA. Give it a rest.

Less than half of DC is fully vaccinated. Not sure why people would take a victory lap over that. Seems pathetic.

Hon', the shots were free everywhere.

Bowser offered platitudes to the people. Vaccines, not so much.

Y’all got vaccinated at Six Flags courtesy of the State of Maryland. We all know it, so just admit it. Meanwhile Bowser is trying to blame DC’s crime and quality of life problems on Maryland. She’s very good at shifting blame but eventually it’s going to catch up with her.

Interesting, because she seems to have no issue with DCPS, DC charters and DC magnet schools like Ellington providing an education courtesy of the DC taxpayers so many kids from PG County on the q.t.

I don’t know anything about that, but her excuse to blame the ATVs on MD is ridiculous.

Anyway, all signs point to this summer being out of control with no one caring about Covid anymore and everyone tired of being cooped up. It might have been better to keep the vaccination rate low until it’s time to go back to school so that things stay under some semblance of control.

If she claims the harassing ATVs come from MD, then unleash MPD to catch them, arrest them, impound their vehicles and destroy them. Oh, and jail them all weekend until an arraignment time comes up the following Monday, The baddies will get the message.
