Yes, we were only able to have one child (infertility and miscarriages) so every milestone is sad because it's the only time we'll experience it.

Maybe you should seek some counseling. You are lucky to be experiencing it at all--it's too bad you can't look at it that way.

Not in the sense of being sad or nostalgic. I'm even more ready to be done than usual. We made it through the year, my kids navigated things mostly-successfully, but OMG, I want this year to be over and I never want another one like it. Goodbye, symptom checkers! I will not miss you.

Almost always. Not this year though. Oddly anticlimactic this year and we are all just waiting on our 7th grader to be done this Friday so we can head the h*ll out of town on vacation!!! 9th grader finished 5/31.
