Does anyone still feed their dog a grain-free diet?

Our vet specifically said no grain-free for our puppy.

Absolutely no heart issues. It's a giant marketing ploy. Please actually read the FDA advisory- they were asked by those who puported this to investigate, and there have been zero conclusions.
FDA says no need to change food.

There are no heart problems being caused from food. There are many dogs who actually get DCM because some dogs do (!)and it isn't food related. This was all self reported by a small group who used social media and a press kit to encourage a move back to grains. Follow the $$.
Having said that...there isn't a problem with either food...grain free, grains, or even legumes.

The reason a veterinarian will now suggest switching to the 5 WASA approved grain foods is because these foods are good foods, too. No one really needs to avoid grains unless a dog has an allergy to an ingredient in grains. But, it’s not because dogs need to avoid grain free foods- all they know is the flood of conflicting information about DCM, and most vets and dog owners haven't actually followed the actual research, which involves sifting through a multitude of seminal studies and FDA investigations ( not one proving even a correlation or cause ) but also the source and breadth of the social media outreach which is fascinating to look at- it makes right wing social media look weak.
It's just easier to recommend the good old brands, like Science Diet and Purina which people mistakenly think are crap due TO OTHER media pushes, but are not actually
crap, to be in the zone of what's good to eat when a client asks about it after seeing scary stuff on the internet. Meanwhile, while all this was going on 2 years ago, one of these top 5 brands recommended had a Vitamin D issue, with actual harm done, and had to recall food- no one said a peep!

The FDA has indicated that there is no reason to change any current grain free food to grain inclusive. Since 2019, much has been written regarding this media folly, and from reputable sources. Please also avail yourselves of the actual seminal study used which involved 22 or so Golden Retrievers only...with the conclusion being that the study couldn't be generalized into any conclusion as there was nothing represented from this sample of dogs who
1. Were already malnourished in several ways, dropping the sample down considerably
2. Had other issues
3. Were Goldens- who tend to get DCM as well as a plethora of other genetic issues.
4. And funded by..........yes, check that out.

Diamond natural. It was the cheapest elite dog food I could afford.
