OP here I’m in the Waterbury area but willing to drive around as long as it’s reachable in one day. I’ll take a look at these they’re specific locations which helps! (I’m new to CT btw)

Anything worth renting this summer is long booked. You are way too late.

Ocnj is within 3-4 hours of CT. Nice family friendly town. (Not to be confused with OC Md.)

Also, if your kids are under school age, go before mid June or from late August to mid September. You’ll get better deals.

Waterbury person, please take your kid to Quassy when it opens. Hope it is back to normal this year. They have a little beach, water park and kiddie rides. Get a summer pass.

Also, take them to March Farms in Bethlehem for pick your own fruit and to feed the goats and ducks, to Rich Farms in Oxford for ice cream, and to Denmos in Southbury for some good burgers and fish sandwiches and outdoor picnic tables.

For a 3 year old who likes the beach, Quassy. For a 15 year old, sure, Compounce.

Aww someone who knows CT far better than me!! We’ve done all of these and it’s been great, we go really early or take off during the week so it’s not crowded. We loved these activities so hoping for something different this time.

I have no clue what any of these are haha but while quassy looks fun I think it may be too crowded for us or would have too many folks there. In noncovid
Times this looks amazing!!
