3.5 too young for bunk beds?

Op here: yes the 3 year old would sleep on the bottom bunk. But just because he sleeps there doesn’t mean he won’t want to horse around climbing the thing during the day and playing with his siblings on it like a jungle gym 🙄🙄

We have a bunk and DD started sleeping on top at 3.5 but they are not allowed to play in it or stand on the top bunk. We told them it's a safety issue (they know they don't get second chances for safety issues, threatened to take the bed away) and it's been fine. It depends on your kid though, I don't think all 3.5 year olds would be okay with it.

We got bunk beds for our boys who are 5 and 9. The 9 yo is on the top bunk. They bed actually has a sticker on it saying you have to be 6 to go on the top bunk and so far the 5 yr is following what the sticker says!
