Fully vaxxed with low fever and chest tightness

For perspective, OP: our doctor said that they are seeing more of more of the normal viruses kids get now that school is in person. If you all have been wearing masks and social distancing, it’s likely you all have something different.

My friend who is fully vaxxed did get Covid when other family members had it. I hope you all feel better soon. Maybe it’s not Covid but it could be even though u have the vax.

DS had covid 7-8 weeks ago and now has a cold. Other viruses are going around.

+1. Getting over one now and had another a month ago. Both brought home by my preschooler. But they are the first colds he or any of us have had since February 2020 ... despite the fact that he went back to school in September. Not sure why suddenly things are coming home when they weren't all winter! (And no, not covid - we got tested.)

If you're having chest tightness you should probably seek urgent medical attention to rule out other causes (like a PE).

Thank you, this is reassuring! We are going to keep everyone home tomorrow to be on the safe side.

My kids were both sick with ordinary viruses this week, both rapid and PCR negative. Couple things: pediatrician said that there’s a big uptick in non-Covid viruses right now, their NOVA practice has a 3% positivity rate and they only test kids who have symptoms, I asked whether my DH and I would have to quarantine if our kids were positive and she said “no.” I’m as crazy as they come when it comes to health anxiety, but I found all of this reassuring. It’s been hard for me to relax and trust the vaccine with all the mixed messages coming from the news, but the doctor said that if you are fully vaccinated, your chances of getting it and your viral load being high enough to pass it on are so slim, the CDC doesn’t recommend quarantine, even if you are living with the person. I would get your child tested, but in the meantime, relax and keep them home on the 3% chance it’s positive. Good luck!

No vaccine is 100%. Neither are birth control pills.

If anybody feels sick, vaxxed or no vaxx, please, get tested. Get a real test, not rapid test.

I posted somewhere else. I have a virus of some sort, DS has it, seems to me, we are all taking masks off and now being exposed to regular viruses, but we were protected from normal infections for over a year.
We need to realize that the rest of things that we used to get sick from are still here!

I got a strep tests yesterday. Guess what? Once they knew I was fully vaccinated, they did not even think to test for covid.
SO, no it doesn't spread if you get it(small tiny chance) and you are vaccianted.
There is some fearmongering pp here that needs to get her anxiety under control!

And are those Yankees about to croak?

There are several thousand cases, probably less than 10K right now of fully vaccinated people becoming infected with covid. Out of how many million vaccinated? Over 130M?
I stand by what I say, if you are vaccinated you are unlikely, and almost impossible to get covid and spread it.

Just get a test and let us know how it goes

OP go to urgent care and find out what’s wrong. I had that. Of course they thought it was Covid. But I was vaccinated. They did both tests. Negative. In the meantime I had pneumonia. Covid has twisted all health care completely out of shape. Chest tightness is a serious symptom. All fine now after they treated the pneumonia.
