BSC I can't answer for every team but most girls in that age range have practiced at Walter Johnson, Tilden and Norwood this year. Generally the ages are together at same time and split by team with some combining. The practice intensity and focus on technical/tactical will vary by level of team and the coach. This is u8 and up. The Juniors Program is its own animal that I'm not that tuned into but it's definitely not intense and there's no teams yet so mix of drills and games. |

| most of the clubs listed are out there to make money. It's their business model. They will take anyone and everyone, and most likely burn your kids out before they are teenagers. Look for a club that is more interested in Player Development, and they will love soccer forever. |
This is correct - there was a new Potomac U9 girls' team rostered for this spring. There are two girls U10 teams. |

We are very happy at XMD (Xeneizes MD) with our U7 girls team playing SAM REC.
XMD tryouts start this week at Lakewood, check them out, they got boys too. All early ages for both. Like a boutique small local club, very awesome and super family oriented, a big difference from the bigger clubs, especially the coaching, its about player development always. |
| We are very happy at FCGB. The training provided is nothing like anything else I've seen in the area. The coaches work as a team across all age groups and coach developmentally appropriate skills at each age group. All the coaches are European and work together to be consistent with style of coaching. The players at the younger ages learn a lot in a fun environment. It's a small, new club that doesn't get the numbers that Bethesd does. But still develop players and teams love the game. |
Avoid Potomac especially girl's side. |
You can’t throw out such a comment without any supporting information. |
| Check Juventus. |

I agree. Take a good look at FCGB. Small, but growing club. They really know how to develop players by teaching in a fun environment and getting more serious as it becomes more developmentally appropriate. |

We like PPA premier. The top girls teams play EDP. I can only speak for my daughter's team but we've found it to have solid training/development without the drama that I read about here. My daughter loves her teammates, they are very supportive of each other, and they adore their coach, which is what we're looking for at this age. She's made huge technical improvements the last couple of years in PPA and I'm amazed by her understanding of the game and how she explains why she made certain plays after reading the field.
As a huge bonus, we've also found that the other parents are generally nice people and fun. We want the kids to do well (and they do) but everyone keeps it positive and focused on the team. |
