How to find a therapist for young teen?

Anonymous
Just start. That might sound dumb but it is going to be really hard to find an open appointment. It was difficult precovid so I imagine it is impossible. Add your pediatrician for a list and start calling. When they say they are booked ask them for recommendations. Keep repeating.

??? Why not? There’s no way it can do them harm, and there’s no shame in seeing a therapist. It’s so commonplace. I never, ever gave this a second thought.

I don’t know if she’s seeing new patients, but my DD really likes Dr. Emily Stano at Psychological Solutions in Gaithersburg.
