With my last purchase, I had a general idea of what I wanted but only narrowed down to 3 or 4 types. I went out for a bunch of test drives - he came along on some if available, but others I did on my own. He was a good sounding board, helped me identify what I liked or disliked about each one.
He happened to be with me when I found THE ONE, but it was at Carmax (1 year old with 12,000 miles, exact model and options I'd been eyeing at the dealer for a substantial discount), so very little negotiating. We went through the paperwork together. |
