I worked at a preschool and as pp stated, it could be so many reasons - - being on purpose would never be one of them. Food purchased from outside vendor vs food packed from home, food needing to be heated up vs served cold, etc.

Well we should have been given an explanation. It doesn't sound like lunch was packed from home. If this were the case, I don't think the parent would have rushed to get their child.

The parents also watched this on a live stream, then took a picture and went to pick up their kids. Their reaction isn’t from this still photo. The parent company also severed ties with this location. People need to stop twisting themselves into a pretzel to defend this behavior.

+1, and as far as the head office cutting ties, what are they supposed to do. If they take a chance on investigating their entire business is shot, whether the accusation is true or not. They are taking the safe option to protect their business name.

Don't understand what is wrong with this sentence. Give a reasonable explanation to put everyone's mind at ease, so we don't have to come up with plausible and implausible scenarios in our head. Why not show the entire video if you have it? A lot of people think this could not happen because this is not how they would behave. Not everyone is like you.

I agree. If seeing more of the video would have provided an understandable context, I bet it would have been released. If there were a simple explanation, such as “ the children who were waiting were those whose lunches were sent from home”, I’m sure that would have been shared before the organization severed ties with this particular center.

It’s sad how many people will turn backflips to defend racism. The default response should be to get more information if it seems to be needed — rather than to assume that it could not possibly involve racism — despite appearances to the contrary.

Easy to say when you are not being impacted by racism and micro aggressions daily and think that everything is equal nowadays. Way to ignore and discount peoples’ experiences simply because you so t think it exists! In a bubble much?

They served the white kids first and the parents watched them do it. And then went and picked up their kids. Trust me - those folks really, really wanted this to be different. No one wants their pre-schooler mistreated by the people they are spending 8+ hours a day with.
