| Hostas. My rhododendron is doing very well too in part shade. But it wasn’t doing well in a different part of the yard. |
| Hydrangeas |
| Variegated Solomon’s Seal. |
| We planted Japanese painted ferns in a shady area next to our house and they are so pretty! We also have some coral bells, hellebore, and astilbe in that area. |
| A favorite of mine are perennial geraniums. I have a couple of BIokovo, which are almost completely evergreen and have a nice smell. I also have a Roxanne, which dies back all the way in winter but starts flowering almost as soon as it appears. They seem to be doing well for me in part shade to shade, as long as it's not super deep shade. |
Hydrangea doesn’t belong to the perennials club. |
| Tiarella (foam flower) is my new fave. |
+1. Also coral bells |
| Spiderwort. It's a native and bees go crazy for it. |
| Hostas are great, unless you have deer. I really like my daffodils. |
?? They are perennials. |
This is a good one- impossible to kill and spreads over time. |

Catmint. I kind of hate how it looks, but it blooms itty bitty blooms all summer long and it’s covered with all sorts of bees.
Daffodils naturalize, so you could put them in and by the time they’re done, the catmint will be up. Epimediums are gorgeous in bloom but I have never grown them myself so I don’t know how their foliage looks. Virginia Bluebells grow in shade, I think. Again, they’re a spring ephemeral so not much bloom. |
| Camellias |
They’re shrubs. |
