Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers
You're so funny... If we keep the baby in a bubble scared of germs we're bad mothers. If we want our babies to grow strong and fight their germs we're selfish. We mothers can never score one point with such judgmental people!!! Anyway, it's my baby and I'm pretty sure that I'm doing what's best for him. I don't want a child that is scared of the water. I want a partner in exercise. His father almost drowned growing up and won't go near a puddle of water. It's bad enough that we can't exercise together. I want my baby to grow to love water like me. Oh well. I also loved the suggestion to work in place with the baby on the stroller/car seat. I can still keep baby in a safe distance and close enough to reach for him if something happens. The pool is such a quite and calm place... it won't be hard to get some 45 minutes a day to go downstairs while baby takes his rest. Thanks to all! |
Can I just say that this is the nicest response to a name caller I have ever seen here on DCUM? I wish everyone could react this way. You go OP! I like your plan AND I like your attitude.

| Now I am jealous of you, OP, having a quiet pool in your building! This sounds like such a peaceful experience with a newborn. Enjoy it! |
DH started suspecting I was pregnant because I was acting super nice It was really funny.
Anyway, we're online and talking to people we don't know. If we act ugly, rude, mad our message won't go through. I'm a very confident person so things I read from unknown people can't really affect me. I noticed that people that respond name callers with even more anger are usually not self confident. I'm glad I asked the question thought. The ideas are just so cool!!! Thanks to all!!! |
I wasn't name calling. I was pointing out that you're being selfish. If I had called you a selfish b*tch, that would be name calling. It's not my kid. If you want to expose DC to bacteria infested water at such a young age: GO FOR IT. I agree that babies need to build up an immune system to germs....when they are old enough. You very clearly stated that even waiting 3 months is too long in your book. It sounds like (00:34) your baby is only 3 months old. http://mumsgather.blogspot.com/2005/11/dirty-swimming-pool-water.html http://weekendwarriors.freedomblogging.com/tag/swimming-pools-clean-disease-dirty-habits-health-fitness-public/ I love the pool. i was introduced to the water at a very young age. 3 months seems too young. Have you asked your pediatrician? |
