I agree - the patriarch is excellent.

Try Quicksand next. I also recommended that one on these boards.

Thanks, will check it out!

Report back when you watched it. Have you seen My Brilliant Friend?

No, I was waiting to read the book first but may give up on that!

Probably, but dubbing is usually awful and much more distracting than just reading the subtitles.

Actually, the dubbing isn’t bad for most characters. For very few...it’s mediocre.

Thanks for the Quicksand rec! I enjoyed binging it. A bit more predictable than some of these other series, but very well done.

Was hoping to hear back from you. It wasn’t about whether she did the shooting but why...so it was predictable in that we knew the whole time she did it. We weren’t sure whether the shooting was accidental or on purpose.

Please try My Brilliant Friend now. You will love it.

I didn’t like it, it is too similar to a Mexican soap opera. I recommend El inocente.

I agree it was like a soap opera, as I said, but still enjoyed it. Any other suggestions? El Inocente looks good (thanks)!

The lead actress was excellent, and the last two minutes gripping. Hard to watch, but well done.

^^ totally agree. The lead actress was excellent. I liked the crazed boyfriend, also. Everyone: prosecutor, kind prison guard, boyfriend’s dad.

El innocente could be good but for me it was far, far too gory.

Yes, great cast across the board. I had never seen the lead actress before but DCUMers might be interested to know that the lead actor (aka unhinged boyfriend) is the actor who played the main love interest in Home For Christmas.

*spoilers*

I liked the first half of season one. Then it got ridiculous with twists that seemed forced. But I figured it was a one season thing good for a binge, and thought there would be some satisfaction at the end of the season. Then there was NO satisfaction at the end of the season. So I forced myself to watch the second season just to find out who did it. But at the last second they tell me they still don't know?! Nope, dont even care anymore who did it. Sorry, Sara.
