DC Health forwarded me the link for the registration website. I got lucky and scored two appointments at CVS in Maryland because I couldn’t wait for DC. DC invited me to register the day of my first appointment.

Yes, because that is how DC Health is handling vaccinations- you register through their website. This is literally how every other adult in DC has registered as they become eligible unless they can get a spot through thier hospital. Do you think DC Health should have pulled you to the top of the line above seniors and those with pre-existing conditions? And if so, why? Because you might go back to work in three weeks? Daycare workers went back last summer and had to beg DC to even be included as childcare workers and you want a golden invite to get vaccinated ahead of more vulnerable people?

Teachers haven't been eligible since vaxes were open - that was only random to teachers who said they would go back.

Our teachers didn't get a link or anything from DCPS but searched and got their own. So yeah its sad how the city has treated them.

Or they can take sick time like anyone else.

Teachers want to be treated like professionals, but then they complain that they can't do things for themselves like schedule medical appointments. How has everyone else managed?

They haven't been eligible since the beginning -- they aren't health care workers or living in nursing homes -- but they were next in line after that. Way before other essential workers who have been working in person for a lot longer.

And then have to hear the moaning and complaining about teachers taking sick leave when we hardly work 2 hours a day? You people can’t make up your minds.

This is BS. At our school many teachers just took leave to go get the vaccine and the principal is fine. The parents are fine with it if it means getting kids back to school.

Take your teacher-hating somewhere else. Multiple posters have told you that you are posting inaccurate information. Thousands of teachers that were not IPL for Term 4 are trying to get appointments. My husband was called by GW and it had nothing to do with him being a teacher - they just became eligible. Why are you so thick?
