Katia Fredriksen was our doctor for my son—twice (once at 6 and later at 15) and our daughter around 4th grade. I think she is thorough, caring and fantastic.

looking for recent reviews... has anyone used the founder of the practice? Thanks! |
| We thought srixrud was fine. They’re a machine, issuing diagnoses so that kids can get IEPs. We got the dx that we knew we were going to get. We didn’t get a ton of insight and lots of the report seemed formulaic and applicable to all kids with that diagnosis. I didn’t feel like they were particularly engaging with my kid. |

I've posted about Stixrud multiple times over the years. We were very happy with their services for our twice exceptional son with autism, severe ADHD, low processing speed, dysgraphia, dyscalculia and anxiety. We saw Dr. Henderson twice for his neuropsych (second time to confirm the autism and get accommodations for college). I highly recommend her. I just had an intake interview over the phone today for my second kid, who asked to be evaluated. She's very functional, but has some attention and anxiety issues. She will also see Dr. Henderson - I think it's useful to continue working with a doctor who knows our family. Costs have crept up over the years. We are expecting to pay 5.8K, up from 5.2K ~4 years ago. Our insurance does not reimburse. |
That’s interesting. We had the opposite experience. The doctor we met very much personalized the report to our child and gave very specific recommendations for both our child and for us as parents on how to manage behaviors we were seeing. Maybe it’s because we used a different Dr? We saw Dr. Boyars. I would never pay $5800 for a check the box assessment just to get a 504 plan. I went to get a full evaluation, recommendations and a plan for the future, which is exactly what we received. |
Doesn't sound like the Stixrud we interacted with. They're known to provide highly personalized services and reports. |
| Dr. Meaghan Doyle was amazing with Stixrud. We saw her in 2024. Going back for renewed testing in 2026. Previous experience with Chesapeake was frustrating in that they missed that our child is autistic. If you have a child with atypical autism this is a good practice to see. |

we were recommended to meet with Dr. Namazi. She came highly recommended by psychiatrist and ADHD coach. She was wonderful both with us and our daughter (16 at the time). She was very similar to how OP describes and was also going through some other issues. Initial intake was done two weeks after contacting them and then her testing was scheduled 3 moths out and we went a little later to coincide with a school break. Parent interview happened a little before her testing. I thought they were very thorough. We were surprised with some findings and she was very very good with our daughter talking about the results. It was $$$ and our insurance didn't cover any of it |
