Only 4% of the deferrals got accepted.

Probably not. TJ kids don't do 13APs nor have GPAs in the 4.8 range. Not possible at TJ. |
It's always been an awkward site, which is why the students all moved to Reddit. Here's what I am watching. https://talk.collegeconfidential.com/t/uva-class-of-2025-regular-decision/3504377/185 |
It says OOS so not TJ. |
|
Look at this rejection!:
Rejected OOS, 4.65 w 35 ACT, decent ecs solid essays |
Likely Yield protection.. |
|
Here's a NOVA waitlist:
Waitlisted. In state. 4.3 W GPA with 13 APs including Senior Year, 1540 SAT, Extracurriculars with national awards. I would say decent recs and essays. Deferred from EA |
In the past, UVA didn't practice yield protection because that takes time and money to assess that. But maybe this year they did. Weird year. I feel so sorry for some of these kids. |
|
The pattern seems to be in or waitlist for OOS. Instates aren't doing so well:
Waitlisted in-state. I'm not angry or anything, but I'm seriously surprised that I didn't get in. 4.3W, 36 ACT, 1500 SAT. |
Stats? |
Sure? My friend who went to MIT said he was rejected OOS from UVA. This was a while ago. We assumed yield protection since he had top stats/ECs/etc...or something weird happened. |
You can’t say that for anyone. Tons of high stat kids are going to get rejected. |
|
| I think it's safe to say that those getting in submitted test scores and did not go test-optional. |
28% of accepted students did not submit scores |
