A box of coffee for the moms.

Why are you trying to turn a situation in which everyone could easily wear masks for an hour into a situation where everyone takes off masks?

When I've done playdates with food during covid, we have the kids sit with appropriate space then they get the snack. They have to stay seated until they are done and have mask back on.

Individual bags of apple slices or cut strawberries.

I'd bring a soccer ball or the like to play with.

I like this idea. Or you can bring juice boxes/bottle water. Generally for outside playdates I just bring a ball, maybe a blanket if there is no seating, juice/water and fruit.

this. makes it so much easier going forward if there's not a lavish snack expectation at every frigging get-together. one dim silver lining of covid.

Right! It is my fervent wish that COVID will kill the snack sign-up (for every! dang! activity!) forever.

That's silly. You shouldn't be getting together because of COVID. Snacks are fine at that point. Whats wrong with snacks.

Nothing is wrong with snacks. Have your kid bring their own snacks. My kid will bring their own snacks. Just don't ask me to sign up to bring snacks for every kid. It's dumb.

Coffee, ask them to tell you their drinks in advance so you can order and pick up.

They're outside! Lighten up, Francis. How many people have gotten COVID from outdoor playdates?
