My wide footed toddler actually fits into the all velcro cloth sneakers at Target. They have been his main shoes during the pandemic when he only wore shoes once a week or so in winter and only sandals and flip flops in summer.

They get dirty fast but wash very well.

If your kid has a "ravioli foot" then you need to pay attention to the top of the shoe- my kids couldn't wear the style of shoes that had elastic laces on top, I had to find ones that would totally open up on top with velcro straps.
