Not necessarily. Our son’s tuition bill is emailed to us. This is totally school dependent.

Find a parent Facebook page for the college/university once your child picks a school - if they let you join now, then join - there will be info shared there and parents will ask questions you never even thought of!

Agree that you need to make sure your child is checking their email for all info updates/deposit instructions/rooming requests, but this is also a very important time to make sure your child is ready to leave and thrive at school.

I don't mean to insult you by this list, but I am still surprised to find kids headed off to college who don't know how to:
do laundry
set their own alarm clock
clean a bathroom
take public transportation alone
manage a bank account balance/withdraw/transfer $
draft professional and respectful emails to teachers
