Tell me about cars that were a pain to own

Fiat Strada. So bad it only lasted till 6 years of age and had trasmission rebuilt, radio replaced, window cranks fell off, electrical issues and caught fire. The actually second transmission went at 50,000 miles and could not go into reverse.

No junk yard wanted it and one wanted to charge me to take it. I actually pulled the plates and rolled it down the hill into a swamp.

I literally have not seen a Fiat Strada on the road since I pushed my 1980 Strada into swamp in 1986

1978 VW Rabbit. Worst car ever.

Was it because parts were a fortune?
Was it constantly breaking down?
Was it a rough ride?
Was it a BMW with a million plastic parts that shouldn't have been made out of plastic?
Was it delivered with panel gaps?

The most frustrating car for me to own was a 2005 Toyota Corolla that I bought brand new. Nothing ever happened. It experienced no problems and ran on a steady diet of discount gasoline and cheap motor oil. I think I once thought about changing the wipers, but decided to leave that for the next guy.

It was the most depressing vehicle I've owned, evoking an emotional state somewhere between eating stale unbuttered popcorn and finding "heavy duty" batteries in the drawer. I've always had some fun driving various cars, whether they had a sporty edge, or were quirky/spunky like the Tercel Station Wagon I drove in college. But not this 2005 Toyota Corolla. I realized 3 month in that this car had no character, no redeeming value aside from providing transportation and carrying my stuff.

Anyway, I could not stand it any longer after 2 years and sold it for a new BMW with a turbo straight six.

I had an Audi that was awful. Had for about 20k miles and things kept breaking and it was like pulling teeth trying to get things covered by warranty.

My Mercedes SUV. It was in the shop all the time. I think we paid for that car twice in the 7 years we owned it!

I have had no problems with 5 different audi vehicles (all different models) in the first three years of ownership. Can't speak to after that because I do not keep cars longer than 3 years.

BMW 3 series I bought new. I wasted days of my life driving up and down Wisconsin/RP to VOB. Their recent commercials are like rubbing salt in a wound - such a dump to have to go to all the time 10+ years ago

Oldsmobile Achieva was a nightmare. One of those cars where every 5k miles something failed and you could go online and find out everyone else had the same problem. It had a magical radiator leak where no matter how many times I had it sealed or replaced it would just dump liquid. Final straw was when I drove a friend home and he noticed a "weird but familiar smell....antifreeze!" He had me stop just in time to bail out as green gas poured out of the AC unit. I junked that stupid thing and took out a loan on a Civix.

Volkswagon Jetta, forgot the year, maybe 2002. Would just randomly completely shut down. The glass on the window completely fell into the pane. And the front seat warmer was so hot it felt like it would catch fire (and on other Jettas this happened).

My worst cars:

- VW Gulf - 2001 - expensive to do any repairs, expensive to change oil, all VWs seem to have window issues

- Subaru Forrester - 2007 - major transmission issues, sunroof leaked like crazy

My favorite cars:

- 2002 Hyundai Elantra - great warranty, no problems, sometimes you still see these around town

- 2019 Rav4 - comfortable, no frills, I like sitting high

A candy apple red Mercury Cougar.

It was a sports car.
A nice coupe that attracted attention on the road.

However once it reached 100,000 miles everything seemed to break down.
A true money pit.

I then got a Honda Accord and had little stress.

C6 corvette. Garage queen. Bad in the snow AND dry pavement. Too low to the ground, difficulty parking and navigating into poorly graded driveways, parking lots. Poor visibility out the back all around. Poor American quality on the mechanicals. Had to rebuild transmission at 10k mikes. Grossly overrated vehicle.

You have to be either A) a troll, or B) the dumbest MF’r on planet earth, if you drove a Vette in the snow.
