do stainless steel diaper pails really work to contain but not take in smell?

Ubbi worked for us for early poop diapers. Now that they’re infrequent, I just empty it whenever there’s a poop. I never smell the pee diapers. Surely they smell, right? I think I must just be used to it. I empty it every other day.

Pee diapers smell like Cheerios to me. But I don't smell them through my Ubbi!

I prefer regular (taken out often) trash can. For dirty diapers I bag them with dog poop bags.

We have a small regular trash, lined with a small grocery bag. Every night, whoever does the bedtime routine pulls out the bag on the way out, scoops the cat litter on the way, and out to the outdoor trash cans. Whoever gets him in the morning puts in a fresh bag. Done.
