Yes! This! He reads it himself. Awesome truly amazing book. |
| I loved, an no 16 yr old needed, the Bloody Jack series. The audiobooks are amazing. This girl, dresses as a boy and then gets on a boat and then lives through all the great navel history of her time. All of it. I got almost all of them free from the library. I did have to purchase one. Highly addictive. Again, I'm 45 and just read them, with my ears, by myself. So much to talk about with your daughter. Plus, its fun and diverting. |

Anything early David Sedaris, he reads them himself, it’s short stories and they’re funny.
I’m a big fan of Agatha Christie on Audible, you could also stop halfway and each guess the killer, make it a bit more fun. |
+1 this is what I was coming to recommend. My family listened to/from OBX, it’s like she’s in the car with you! |

If you haven’t done them yet, the Harry Potter series is great on tape.
For non-fiction; Bryson’s a walk in the woods and as recommended above, a sunburned country are very good car books and you can start and stop easily. |

The Reader Trilogy by Traci Chee is awesome on Audible. Traci Chee is a beautiful writer, and the story is told from the perspective of a young girl who is 15 or 16 when the story begins. My DC loved it!
His Dark Materials series by Phillip Pullman is great, too. It’s been made into a TV show, but the Audible books are well-acted and narrated. Almost anything by Bill Bryson - DC loved A Short History of Nearly Everything. Also second the Harry Potter series, although that might be a bit young for a 15-year old. |
