Where?
If near a Starbucks or coffee shop or your home, order/bring them hot chocolate. Give each girl a blank notepad and some gel pens. Let them draw/talk. |
| Do they know each other? If so, they will definitely be fine. My 4th grader only does outside playdates, she has-walked the friend's dog, biked, roller skated, skateboarded, played with a stomp rocket, done tie dye, made an obstacle course, put on a show (stage in a gazebo), run from angry geese, jump roped, played on playground equipment, hula hooped, played hide and seek. That's all I can think of, but the only thing that required attention from me was the tie dye. I will remind her that she might want to take some equipment and text the other family to coordinate. |
| Give them a ball. Walk away. |
| Just stay out of the way. |
Ha, I love this. |
As long as they're appropriately dressed, they won't need much from you. Hot chocolate will likely be appreciated, and then they'll want you to go away. |

I showed my 4th grader and his friend how to make oobleck then they had a blast playing with it. All you need is cornstarch and water and a container. I brought out green food dye just for fun so they could color it.
Add some hot chocolate and a snack and it was around 90 minutes of fun. |
Yes! This, or 6 puppies. Ball is probably cheaper.
If they haven't been exposed to Calvin and Hobbes, get the complete collection and expose them to Calvinball. It can last for as long as it needs to
