Telephone
I Spy |
I have an 8 yr old and a child that just turned 4.
Our main activity is “3 things”: your favorite thing, something you wish you could change or do over, and one other thing you’d like to share. Recently I played a game with my 8 year old that she loved where we went back and forth trying to think of opposites that came to mind. I tried playing a categories type game with her of naming all the animals we could think of that start with “M” but she didn’t seem quite ready. The four year old likes “3 things” and tries to play I spy but doesn’t quite get it yet. |
Cards. Teach rummy, spades, bridge and hearts. For the four year old maybe uno |
We play 20 questions but with animals. One person things of an animal - everyone else can only ask yes or no questions.
We also play the picnic game - I'm going on a picnic and I'm going to bring - sandiwches. Then the next person says sandwiches and adds something else on, and so on and so on. |
The Food Game, which goes like this:
One person names a letter and everyone else thinks of a food that starts with that letter. The letter namer then asks yes/no questions to guess each person’s food. When someone’s food is guessed that person is out and can help the letter namer guess the other’s foods. We’ve played this for years starting when our kids were about four. |
We have done this too for years. We call it your "Happies and your Crappies" (mine are a little older). |
