Washable rugs: alternatives to Ruggable?

Anonymous
I have a washable rug from RUGS USA and it's fantastic. MUCH better than Ruggable, which is a piece of junk.

I had the thicker pad but my dog peed and it went through, and the under pad wouldn’t get clean (and couldn’t fit into an industrial washer). Sigh. We just switched to the new, thicker rug with the same thin pad underneath - the specs say the thicker rug will fit into an industrial washer, so fingers crossed!

Ordered a ruggable but it's like crinkle paper to walk on it. The Velcro that attaches the pad to the cover is SO loud. I had to return it.

We have not had that issue with ruggable. I quite like it.

Same! We have 5 of them. After 4 years we had to replace the pad in the one in our living room, it was starting to deteriorate. But we replaced it with the thicker pad that wasn’t available when we got the rug initially. Absolutely no problems with noise. That rug gets a lot of traffic, is vacuumed daily, and has been washed dozens of times. It was a darker pattern and has faded some, but very evenly and we still get compliments on it. It doesn’t look worn at all. I feel like an advertisement but I really love ruggable!

Yes. The thicker pad is very comfortable and does a great job softening footfalls in our old house - especially the upstairs hall. We have a thick pad in the kids play room and I can sit on it for quite a while without getting uncomfortable. We’ve had that one for 2 years and it is just as comfortable.
