But prioritize the vaccine based on age/essential workers, not on race per se.

This has been done. And there are few sites in predominantly white.

But are they restricted to people in those hoods? Or are the white people from outside swooping in and taking the appointments?

Yes, that’s what is white people do- constantly look for ways we can swoop in and take stuff from others

Go away.

Not PP, but there are twice as many elderly in ward 3 as in ANY other Ward and NO DC GOV vax sites have been placed in the Ward. Where would you like them to sign up? Dig beneath the stats, hey?

False and false. Ward 3 can sign up on Fridays.

So incredibly wrong. Priority should be based on age and then underlying health conditions.

It is bad enough the smokers and the obese are getting priority.

Obesity is a risk factor. There's zero reason not to prioritize obese people based on that (probably after seniors and people with higher risk conditions) other than a desire to see fat people die.

BRB gotta get some tater chips before I comment. Fatter I get, sooner I get my vax

No. Both are true, actually.

No clear as to why a 65 healthy person gets to be in front on an 80 year due to what Ward they live in.

Other then to vote for Bowser.

I’m white, and will happily go to the end of the line just to get people to STFU.

You and me both. The amount of coddling and hand holding has gotten ridiculous. But I seem to think it is some loony social justice warrior creating pretend problems when the POC are just not interested in getting the vaccine.

Obesity is not a risk factor - it is a life choice - like smoking.

Cancer - risk factor. Autoimmune deficiency - risk factor.

So like I said, you want fat people to die. It's because you think they deserve it, but that doesn't change what you believe. That's only about 40% of the population, though, so whatever, right?

Ward 3 has fewer sign up days than other wards. Where is the lie?

They also have no DCGOV vax sites allocated in Ward 3. The lack of outcry makes clear the hypocrisy of our supposedly green, car free lifestyle city. Lets make the oldies triple mask and take a bus or Uber across town. They can spend the next 2 weeks wondering if they caught Covid on their way to get vaccinated. Lovely.

Honestly, I think racial equity might be behind DC's proposal to vaccinate those with a BMI over 25. Over seventy percent of black people in DC over over 25 BMI. Percentage of white people in DC over BMI is closer to thirty percent.

Ward 3 sucked up all the vaccine already. They can wait until things even out a bit.
