Cheesecake Factory is one of those weird ones. The food is generally tasty and they have such a huge menu that everyone can find something they will eat. It’s one of our concession restaurants and one we take picky eaters. So this way, if someone wants a burger, someone wants pasta, someone wants a salad, someone wants something vaguely Asian or vaguely Tex-Mex, they have it. And the bread basket and a slice of cheesecake to take home. It’s a win for everyone.

More accurately, it's not a huge loss for everyone. No one wins, though, except obesity and heart disease.

Only if we have no self control like you do and clean our plates like piggies. There’s a reason everyone walks out of there with bags of leftovers.

Leftovers from places like that are always gross. Leftover burger and fries? Useless. Leftover salad? Limp. The huge portions are ridiculous.

The Thai lettuce wraps are great for days afterwards. Delicious and relatively healthy. And for decadence, the Buffalo blasts are awesome warned up. My family of 4 shares 1 plate, and we still have leftovers to enjoy later.

Would tourists really go though? I know when I'm a tourist I'd rather eat at local unique places and not the same generic big-chain restaurants that you can dine at back at home.

Lots of tourists like comfort when they travel.

My husband used to live in Hawaii. He said the Cheesecake Factory often had a line out the door. I couldn’t believe it. You fly that far and eat at Cheesecake?! Although, it’s possible many of the tourists were foreign and looking for the American chain restaurant experience.

The Ohio/KY/TN church, school, Boy Scout groups will make 3 hour waits a regular thing. Capris with white athletic socks, white high tops and fanny packs as far as the eye can see.

There’s an Olive Garden, Applebee’s, and TGI Friday’s in Times Square and they always look pretty busy any time I’ve gone past...

I was a server at the Cheesecake Factory and know WAY too much - and it’s all GOOD! The only item that’s NOT made that day and comes frozen? The cheesecakes! Everything is made in store that day (prepped like the salad dressings) or made to order when ordered. What you don’t see in the restaurant are the dozens and dozens of people in the prep kitchen and cooks. It’s been about a decade since I worked there (and it was only a short stint) but it’s truly not something to compare to an Applebee’s (gross) type chain restaurant.

No, that's the suburbs.

Why would you pick on where you live, if you live anywhere in DC, you are in the suburbs or at best a small city. Real small.

Not what those of us with offices in that area need.

This. Though maybe the tourists will leave the actual decent restaurants alone.
