Chap Peterson's speech at the VA Senate about opening schools.

That’s not exactly what he said and it’s just going to get people riled up phrasing it this way. Lets’s be accurate. He said “The death of a 99-year-old is not worth closing school for a 9-year-old.”

And I agree with him.

When the new virus hits in Summer will you still call for Petri dishes to be open?

Maybe. We'll have to see what happens in the future when it happens.

Geez so are we never supposed to go back to school? EVER?! American education is already shotty compared to a lot of other industrialized countries and now we're almost at a year (and I fear counting) of really lackluster school for a lot of kids. Many will never be able to make this up. I'm already at peace with the fact that school will not be back this year, but I can't phantom it not coming back in the fall. I think there will be a much larger political reckoning if schools don't open in the fall. I think for the most parts parents have been patient and understanding but there comes a point where enough is enough.

That breaking point is NLT next fall. There will be zero patience to keep this nonsense going once vaccinations are widespread.

Does anyone have a script to use for calling/email?

I have had it with schools not being open for some level of in-person and find it totally unacceptable that they won't try, especially now that the vaccine is available.

If he has kids in FCPS, then he already knows the support for opening schools this fall is incredibly high. I don't know any parent who doesn't expect schools to be open this fall. The radical POV is expecting anything less than five days a week.

agree that opening schools vs. DL forever is not a partisan issue. Just because the "fairfax democrats caucus" are cowed by the FEA doesn't mean his position isn't mainstream in Fairfax.

Op, thanks for sharing, video spot on, couldn't agree more!

Sure, go for it!

I would love to see a AOC like candidate walk into the progressive hotbeds of Fairfax Station, Mantua, and The City of Fairfax and tell them why they fought to keep schools closed as long as possible in the face of all available Public Health guidance.

I'm sure all the Federal Law Enforcement professionals who live in Oakton and Vienna will buy in on your defunding the police platform.

Where is the vaccine available? Not in FX. Do you read or watch the news? - https://wjla.com/news/local/vaccines-virginia...cIiTIWUXxyBYaLokaVmw
