Seven year old likes to touch his penis. Does it really start this early?

| Ahhh....boys. My DS (age eight) was taking pictures with his new digital camera last night and said that he wanted to take a picture of something good. This was followed by, "I KNOW! I'LL TAKE A PICTURE OF MY PENIS!!!!" I told him that I will be checking the pics on his camera and if I find any penis pictures, his camera will then be MY camera. Well, I didn't find any penis pics, but he did take a picture of the toilet. |

Oh honey. I watched my 19 m/o stand in the bath behind his brother and play with his penis for a good 20 mins last night. If I take his diaper off when he's upset it takes him awhile to work out which he wants to do more: follow after me screaming his displeasure, or play with his penis. His brother the 2.5 y/o thinks that penises (penii?) are so much fun that I've already had to start telling him we dont touch [little brother's] penis because our penis is private, and we only touch our own. And also not to stick a finger up anyone's butt, his included.
I blame it all on DH. MIL told me that when he was 3, after being put to bed they could hear him singing *I'm playing with my peniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis! And it feeeeeeeellsss GOOOOOOOOOD!* |

| My four year old ds came in to my room the other morning and said "hey mom watch this" and proceeded to pull his pants up and down really fast to make his penis pop in and out. He said "it feels really good when I do this"! My dd when she was six was sitting in the back seat of the car after we had gotten one of those god awful light up spinning toys at the fair and said, "mom this feels really good, it's making me tingle" I turned around to see her with her legs spread holding the spinning toy between her legs. Who knew? |

I'd tell him the truth, but I'd keep it short and sweet.
"Its an erection and its very natural and normal for it to happen sometimes when youre excited" or somesuch. If he asks for more details tell him you'll let his father/pertinent male role model explain since he understands it better. |

| My 4 yo DS was outside with me, my neighbor, and her 2 sons. DS was grabbing himself and my neighbor asked "do you need to use the bathroom"? To which DS replied in a proud, booming voice "No! I just really like touching my penis"!! |

HA!!! Too funny. My DS was born with one hand on his penis. OB had to pry his hand off of it. The whole delivery team was in stitches. I swear he toilet trained early just so he could get back to easy access.
