How many inches did your daughter grow from age 11-13?

I didn’t grow any more after 12. But I had my period at 11. Your daughter will likely grow if she hasn’t hit puberty

Started at 5'3" around 11 and now 6'0" and turning 14 next month. She bypassed me in 7th grade, I am 5'11. Her Dad is 6'1", he is now getting worried. Ha! She just got her period so I am hoping this is it.

No she doesn't play basketball and yes her feet are an 11.

Tall.. short... somewhere in the middle... they are going to exactly as tall as they are going to be. They're our kids... height should be the last thing we have to worry about.

While I agree with this, if my daughter grows to only be 4’11’ she will be at a disadvantage. Not the case for 6ft women.
I’m talking as adults with careers, hoping to be taken seriously. There are exceptions to this but they are that... exceptions.
I sounds like you have no personal experience with knowing the difficulty very very short women face in the work place. Clearly this is vastly less important than her health, etc.

Speak for yourself! I’m a short woman (5’0) with a very successful career. I never lacked for boyfriends either. I have never once been disadvantaged in the workplace by my height. I learned early on to say intelligent things and people will listen.

The only disadvantage to being short that’s factual is that I eat less calories to maintain my weight than tall women.

I have a 13 year old who has grown 6 inches in the past 2 years with the majority of that growth after she turned 12. She was 4'9 and is now 5'3. I have a 10.5 year old who hasn't started puberty and is 4'5. I understand your concern.

Different time frame, but my daughter grew 6 inches between 11 and 16. She was on the late side hitting puberty, and started her period just after her 14th birthday. She grew two inches between 14 and 16.

My DD grew about 4 inches between 11 and 14. She is now 5’5” but wants to be taller to help her volleyball game.,

6 or 7 inches? She was 5'2" or 5'3" at her 11-year-old well-child visit; she is now 13.5 and is 5'9". She got her period at 11.5 but continued growing like an invasive plant until about her 12th birthday; her growth rate has since slowed down considerably but not yet stopped. Hopefully she will stop soon -- 5'9" is plenty tall. And she is already 3 inches taller than I am.

I didn’t grow at all after age 11. I’m 4’11, not sure what difficulties I am supposed to have, I haven’t found on yet.

Exactly. The disadvantages are real and difficult.

I was 5'6 at 11 (topped out at 5'7) and my 11yo is 4'11, just barely starting to get breast buds and I sincerely hope she grows a lot. My husband is 6'3 and she was always tall as an infant/young child but now says she's "just average" for her class. I'm expecting her to start growing any day...

Isn't she slated to be around 5'6? That's not short. I don’t understand why people are worried about height.

DP.. I guess grass is always greener on the other side... I'm 4'11", and wouldn't mind being 6'. DH is 6'3 so he'd still be taller than me.

My kids are short/average.

No one can predict the height but, more than likely, PP's DD will be taller than average simply because she has tall parents.
