I was going to write this too, be sure NOT to tell your mom the doors are locked. Otherwise, she'll process this information subconscienously and still unlock them in her sleep. You have to "surprise" her by keeping the doors locked.

Hi,
This is a relatively new problem for me personally, and words can not described my fear and sadness. This past Sunday, I got out of bed, walked up the stairs, out the front door; in just a tank top and panties, walked 15 blocks right into the the police station. This is NOT a joke. I looked down and my foot was bleeding as well. Of course they probably initially thought I was on drugs.
I don't remember walking out the door or the first half of the walk but I do remember all I could think, was that; "I just NEEDED to get to the police station and tell them to give me a ride to my parents house."
At one point during the walk I do remember looking down at what I was/wasn't wearing and being confused where I was and why I was walking down the street. In the parking lot I think I started to come to a little and I stood there for a few minutes but because I was there I just went in. I told them I had a bad dream and to call my parents. I also have nocturnal seizures occcasionally which are controlled with meds and I know I have sleepwalked before but the furthest I have ever walked was my kitchen!!! I am beyond mortification!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because my foot was bleeding, they called in like 4 hot paramedics to it wrap up. So humiliating. I'm more humiliated now of course thinking about it. Obviously I didn't know I was sleepwalking at the time I was just confused why I was there but I cannot EVER have anything remotely similiar like this happen again. This just happened a few days ago so I am visiting my parents and sister for a few days but afterwards I am definitely going to get a few of those alarms for the doors. I think this happen hopefully just because I messed up my meds, I think I took one dose twice by accident and I read it can cause hallucinations. I don't forsee this happening again hopefully but hopefully with the alarms, proper med dosage and also what about lights that go on when you walk in a room?? I think the noise, it would be most effective but maybe with alarms, lights and maybe even babygates for stairs that are difficult to open when you're asleep but not awake? I don't know, this has terrified me. I'm trying to find the humor in this because I know it's there to outsiders and the idea of it I suppose is funny although I've only told 2 of my close friends and right now I'm just sad and scared. But I do feel like a different person than Sunday night...so much better!!!!!!
Good luck to everyone!!! XOXO
