I don't think you can think about it this way unless you're looking for a double barrel name. The only time a middle name will "balance out" an androgynous name is on a birth announcement. Most of the time you'll just be calling your kid Quinn Whitlow or whatever, so be sure that you're comfortable with the ambiguity.

I think Quinn has gone the way of Ashley and Leslie...now a girl’s name. I know multiple Quinn’s under 5...all girls.
