rental car accident (not at fault) advice needed!!!!

Anonymous
Some of the charges the rental car company charge are for their loss of income (not being able to rent the vehicle that is damaged). I had to use a rental car several times last year and this was overly stressed each time because no insurance will cover this cost.

I'm curious about all the additional costs? Do you have a breakdown of all the charges?

Yes, we have a breakdown, and the major one is "loss of use." The others, in decreasing order, are diminishment of value, administrative fees, and towing fees.

I was the 22:31 poster, is there anyway you can get your own roadside assistance coverage to reimburse you for the towing? Or is this additional towing to get the car back to the state where it was rented?

Their claim for diminishment of value should go to the at fault driver's insurance, you should not be responsible for that.

I'm not worried about the towing charge, if I have to pay that, it's no biggie (under $100, it was just towing from the site of the accident to a repair shop I guess).

I also thought the diminishment of value and admin fees should definitely be the at fault driver's insurance. My next plan is to contact the other driver and see if he's contacted his insurance about paying the rest of the bill.

I would contact the other driverr's insurance company and ask them what they need. if they balk, and you need to go thru your insurance company, let them go after it.
