rib cage - does it decrease again after pregnancy?

Anonymous
PP here--I was back to lower than pre-preg weight so there was no "back fat" interfering with the issue--still a whole size bigger in ribs--but I was on the smaller size to start and had lots of upper rib pain during the pregnancy as things stretched. So, maybe it depends on how much your ribs had to spread--I had big babies.

Just like my shoe size went from 8.5 to a 9 and didn't go back.

Are you the same weight/fat percentage as you were before? I just don't get how breasts can get bigger if not from weight.

I am the same weight as i was and probably in better shape - i run now. My boobs got bigger I think from breast feeding - they aren't as perky and droop and stretch (I know, sounds gross but it's really not) a little more.

My ribs did not go back, but I only went from a 32 to a 34. I got back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but am just shaped a little differently. I'm actually thankful that my shoulders widened since it helps balance out my slightly wider hips.

My ribs mostly went back, probably an extra inch. I still wear a size 34 18 months later but probably use bigger hooks. Now that I am pregnant again, BOOM, my ribs and breasts were the first to pop 2 months in. It is ridiculous how pregnant I look at 22 weeks. I had to pull those nursing bras that I had finally stashed away out of the closet again.

And for the poster with the bigger boob question: are you serious? My body has been totally re-proportioned after kids. My waist got wider, but I wear smaller size pants. My breasts got huge and lowered, and I had to buy bigger tops because my ribcage and huge rack wouldn't fit anymore. And I was still below my pre-pregnancy weight. I went from more of an hour-glass shape to more of an apple. It is just a reconfiguration thing, so I'll be interested what this second little rascal does to me.
