My 9 yr old is bigger than this. Please have your son evaluated by a pediatrician

Jesus Christ. Can you people read?

You all need to YouTube some old Reading Rainbow episodes and get some basic comprehension skills.

I think this is a troll. No mother would refer to her 13 year old son as having “moobs”.

If the above isn't correct, please explain, because I read the op. The same way as the pp

Your child is around 1% for height and his weight was very low prior. He likely had trouble growing in height due to his eating habits.
How do I know? I had that DS, just even lower weight at that same age. Endo did bone age and said, he had constitutional growth delay, the potential for being pretty tall, but unless he gains weight he will stay short.
As it is/was we accomplished a lot and DS grew to 5'10" only BCS he gained weight. There is a direct correlatio, the pediatric endocrinologist said, to him eating and growing. Simply, you can not grow in height if you have no fuel to grow on.
You need to let your ds eat and eat and eat.
As for depression, you need to act to going on walks and doing something, many kids are doing sports even now.
Good luck. BTW, my DS is now 21 and normal weight. Do I sometimes pause and think eff it, I wish he ate more back then? Yes, he likely would have been over 6 feet tall, heck we were told this by his endo.

I am worried you have not been providing adequate sized meals and nutrition for him, which stunted his growth - it may be he is hungry and eating whatever he can obtain to compensate, and that is allowing him to catch up on weight. Not unusual for kids to plump up before they gain a few inches in height. How long since he had his annual physical with a physician? What did they say about his height/weight?

DP, yes he can. Mine was. This was FTT and we saw specialists and were at the Georgetown Pediatrics several times per month. I would have been beyond elated if, at that same, age my DS gained weight. I posted above, so this parent is some truly insane parent who should have been worried about her DS' health!! The way we lived then, was forcing DS to eat 3 donuts, two lunches, seeing specialists left and right. Not posting on dcum!

I mean is there anybody normal on dcum when it comes to their kids' weight? We either have denial that parents are at fault when kid is obese and claiming "he will grow, no matter that he is 190 lbs and 5 feet tall!" or we get an op that has a child that clearly needs medical help growing in height and is practically FTT worried that her malnourished kid gained some much need weight!
Insanity is appalling! How skinny are you OP? How many eating disorders do you have?

Sounds like you need to feed him more OP. He's tiny and getting ready to go through a growth spurt.

There is no way this post is real. "Moobs"?

Troll.

If this is real, Get the scale out of the house. No need for any teen to be using a scale except at the doctors office.
