Agree that DL curriculum and teaching can bore the kid. We supplement with weekly one-hour on-line reading classes for 4th graders through one of the Loyola Universities. The classes meet at various times - we choose the 7-8 pm time slot on a weekday. Excellent teachers, better than what we get in reading from the kid's DCPS classroom teacher. We also look for one-off Out School Classes of particular interest to the kid, who's obsessed with wildlife/nature and likes to draw.
