Good detective/crime/thriller series on Netflix or Amazon prime?

If you are interested in documentaries and have options beyond Netflix and Amazon prime:

- Atlanta’s Missing and Murdered: the Lost Children (HBO) This particularly resonated as I lived near Atlanta at the time and it was so horrifying and scary
- Murder in the Bayou (Showtime) this one really brings home how little some lives are valued by society.
- I’ll be gone in the Dark (HBO) ... about the Golden State Killer. Thought it was better than the book given real life perspective.

It appears my COVID TV habits are pretty dark.

If you haven't already watched it, I highly recommend Sherlock.

True Detective season 1

This show is seared into me - some images I’ll never forget. Matthew McConaughey was phenomenal.

Yup, I was gonna suggest this one too. Can’t go wrong with Woody Harrelson and Matthew McC in the same show. But beware, it’s very creepy and disturbing at times

+1. Season 1 was by far the best. But I also really enjoyed season 3.

I heard Hannibal was good but my DH doesn’t like shows that were on network tv.

Thanks!

We watched this awhile - it's so good and there were so many twists and turns (got a bit confusing a few times though).

Spiral, a French police show, if you want to go a bit further afield.

The most recent season of mindhunter included this as a plot.
