The other issue is that if you do this, unless you somehow make arrangements for your own practices, it will be games only. |
| Last season Alexandria offered a program where a team could be formed and get an Alexandria coach not just for the Alexandria league games but for 1-2 practices a week. Not sure if they will offer that this year. |
That would be awesome. We would have loved that option last year, but it wasn't communicated to us. Maybe a disconnect or missed information. We did have an Alexandria coach (ours from soccer) but no practices. |
| What Alexandria offers is well communicated. it was heavily published last year and even this year. Id suggest you take a closer look at the emails that come out from the club on the topic. A recent one had an attachment that went into great detail about the program, state of Alex Futsal, team options, coach options and so on. The website covers this as well. |
I'm not sure why you are becoming aggressive with me about this. In fact, I have looked through all the information that ASA sent and posted, and see nothing about practice sessions for non-futsal ID teams, just games. If this information is so easy to find, perhaps you would care to share a link? I'm not interested in getting into a ridiculous argument with you, but rather, getting information about what is available to my child. |

Aggressive
I think you are reading into that incorrectly Seems he/she is just pointing out the information is out there, readily available and was communicated. |
I can't find that particular information, so if anyone can help, I'd prefer to circle back to that. |
| My son's team had a team with Alexandria last year with a coach and practices. I don't know how we found out about it...one of the dad's set it up. I don't see it advertised this year on the Alexandria website. I'm going to ask Alexandria about it. |

OP. I'm back. Thanks to some of the pps. We have some great leads on independent Futsal teams in DC. He likes Futsal even more than outdoor and I from the years watching I've been impressed with the Clubs that are fully devoted to Futsal. It really is a different game.
We did form our own team a few times in the Alexandria league, but all of the boys are on high level outdoor teams so it was almost impossible for them to get together to practice and many times-had to miss games. It's hard to compete in a Division with a bunch of boys that are playing together in a game for the first time with no practices against teams that are practicing Futsal 2-3 days per week and several tournaments, no matter are good the collective touch and ball skill of the players. |
Futsal programs in Maryland for u12 Boys? |
| Are there serious programs for girls outside of Alexandria? I heard a Gus who used to run a program out of FCV. Is anyone familiar with Futsal America? |
| Definitely Alexandria--it is what they do. |
| The Alexandria staff continually promoting itself on these boards is getting nauseating. |

Gus is running his Futsal through Great Falls this year. email him if you are interested. |
